Go inside the studio for LEGO NINJAGO's boldest collaboration yet — with the full story of the artist behind it. To mark its 15th anniversary, NINJAGO named legendary street artist FUTURA as an official creative collaborator. This deep-dive traces his journey: born in New York in 1955, painting the subway as a teenager, four years in the U.S. Navy, then pioneering abstract graffiti and showing alongside Basquiat, Keith Haring and Kenny Scharf. From painting live on stage for The Clash to creating the iconic Pointman and collaborating with Supreme, Comme des Garçons, Kenzo, Louis Vuitton and Virgil Abloh — five decades of art lead to this moment. Then watch FUTURA hand-embellish three one-of-a-kind minifigure art pieces spray can by spray can: the 'Ninja of the Futura', which channels his Pointman, plus bold reinterpretations of fan-favourites Kai (in red) and Nya (in blue), unveiled at the Brooklyn Museum.
And there's more to come: on Friday, September 18 at I'Park Mall Yongsan in Seoul, the LEGO NINJAGO: Legends DuskFall Fan Event will feature a special appearance by FUTURA, the artworks up close, exclusive giveaways, the newest NINJAGO sets — and the world premiere of Legends DuskFall, the brand's first-ever anime.
